Painting for me gives the opportunity to explore.

Perhaps it will be an imaginary geography, unseen
until the first marks on the canvas point a direction
and takes me to a place that surprises me.
Or, the investigation of an idea,
an opinion, a confusion, a personal observation,
and if I'm lucky, I'll connect with someone in some way,
intrigue, amuse, jolt, - give the 'kalidascope'
(through which every individual sees their life) a nudge.
And it doesn't matter if the 'seeing' is not the same,
